Great Moments in Coming Out: Lt. Dan Choi
Many of us were watching when Lt. Dan Choi came out publicly on the Rachel Maddow Show last year.
Lt Dan Choi is currently under investigation for violating the US military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy and has been arrested in uniform for chaining himself to the White House fence in protest of the delay in repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
What a lot of us haven’t seen is his personal coming out story. He apparently told his parents only shortly before telling the rest of us.

It’s sad that so many here think that our military is so undisciplined and archaic that it couldn’t handle gays. Something that so many other countries have handled with little problem. I personally give our military more credit. I think that it is the best, most disciplined military in the world right now and something like this won’t phase it a bit. Please don’t prove me wrong.
